Wags & Whiskers is an animal rescue that has adoptions but also does so with the help of volunteers, donations and memberships. The typical user is between 19-30 years old, and most users are college students or early career professionals. Wags goals is to be a fun, informative, and easy to use for all types of users.
Project duration: October 2022
Challenge
Available rescue applications have cluttered designs, inefficient systems and difficult to understand volunteer options.

Objective
Design a Wags & Whiskers application to be user friendly by providing clear navigation and offering an easy to maneuver volunteer section.

Research
I conducted user interviews, which I then turned into empathy maps to better understand the target user and their needs. I discovered that many target potential volunteers really want to connect with the animals they are woxrking with. However, many websites are overwhelming and confusing to navigate, which frustrated many target users. This caused a normally enjoyable experience to become challenging for them.

Design and Prototyping
Drafting iteration of each screen of the app to make sure that each element of the app will work well with the application. For the home screen I wanted to make sure that ordering is easy.
Using my notes and findings from the research, I implemented the findings in my base designs in my wireframes. Using several rounds of research and testing, iterations and modifications were made when designing and refining  both the high fidelity  wireframes and mockups based on several rounds of research/
